From Information World Review:
Justice Minister, Michael Wills, announced the publication of a new Code of Practice on managing digital and other records and the government’s plans.
The updated code is a step in ensuring good record keeping for preservation and greater transparency. It recommends public bodies across the country introduce a strategy for the preservation of digital records to ensure that these records can continue to be accessed and used and are resilient to future changes in technology.
The government has also published its response to the consultation on extending the Freedom of Information Act. These publications support the government’s plans to increase the accessibility of public information and promote the culture of openness and transparency in public life, according to the Ministry of Justice.
